What is a protocol?

What is a protocol and how is it different from a diet?

Protocol: prō–tō–kol:

A formula; a precise and detailed plan for a treatment regimen

BalancePoint® is a patent-pending natural protocol using tasty, everyday foods for fast-track cholesterol reduction. It is important to make the distinction that BalancePoint is a protocol and not a diet in the sense of what “diet” means to most people, who naturally want to compare BalancePoint to the South Beach or Atkins diets.

Why is it a protocol and how is it different from a diet?

When most people think “diet” their interest is weight loss. Weight loss happens to be a happy by-product of our protocol. In our protocol, you can usually control whether or not you want to lose weight but, to a large extent, how quickly or how much you lose. But that’s not the primary goal of going on our program.

The focus of the BalancePoint protocol, on the other hand, is specific cardiovascular and metabolic improvements.

Other published diets, for example, have not reported results which approach BalancePoint’s success in reducing LDL cholesterol by as much as 70 mg/dl in two weeks.
To accomplish results such as this, the protocol is science-based. As discussed in our explanation of the science behind BalancePoint, the BalancePoint protocol creates an ideal environment in the body to allow it to repair itself rapidly.

There is precision in the protocol related to layers of science. Each of the elements make specific metabolic changes.

We get remarkable results from this precision. It basically amounts to a formula.

That is why it is critical to accurately monitor and track your foods to make sure you are operating within this formula. It is a meticulous two-week regimen, but those who have carefully adhered to it have outstanding results to show for it.

So do not read sections of this website thinking that you will pull out a few main features of the protocol—the parts you like–and that you will be on BalancePoint by doing this. In the same way, trying one or some of the recipes does not mean you are on BalancePoint. Unlike traditional diets, the points of the BalancePoint protocol are not general guidelines for you to follow as you wish. They are part of a detailed and specific regimen which we know works—but in the way it has been set up. To obtain the results we talk about you need to follow the protocol exactly as we have designed it. That means the precise percentages of fats, carbohydrates, and protein and total amount of calories which we specify.

We find that whenever people make changes, the results change. Reducing the amount of olive oil by 1 ½ tablespoons a day can affect your results by as much as 50%. It’s like altering a prescription. Just as a drug is carefully engineered and well thought-out, so is this non-drug protocol and with the same precision.

Following the protocol involves a certain amount of commitment and effort, unlike popping a pill in the mouth. BalancePoint’s mission is to provide the support to make everyone successful in doing the protocol and finding for themselves how ‘be in the driver’s seat” regarding aspects of their health they didn’t know they had control over.
